She is gone. By David Harkins.
You can shed tears that she is gone,
or you can smile because she has lived,
You can close your eyes and pray she will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all she has left,
Your heart can be empty because you can't see her, or you can be full of the love that you shared,
you can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday,
You can remember her and only that she has gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you could do what she would want; smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

I Sit Beside The Fire and Think
by J R R Tolkien
I sit beside the fire and think
Of all that I have seen
Of meadow flowers and butterflies
In summers that have been
Of yellow leaves and gossamer
In autumns that there were
With morning mist and silver sun
And wind upon my hair
I sit beside the fire and think
Of how the world will be
When winter comes without a spring
That I shall ever see
For still there are so many things
That I have never seen
In every wood in every spring
There is a different green
I sit beside the fire and think
Of people long ago
And people that will see a world
That I shall never know
But all the while I sit and think
Of times there were before
I listen for returning feet
And voices at the door
